On my 3rd year placement, I conducted a range of lessons within English and Geography based on the topic of volcanoes.
For the term whilst I was there I asked the children to harness their knowledge of volcanoes to work on a project of their choosing. It was evident to see that this topic encouraged the children take ownership of their learning.
Here are some examples of some of the work the children produced.
2 – encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
4 – promote a love of learning and children’s intellectual activity curiosity.
4 – set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding pupils have acquired.
